COMPARISON OF EFFECT OF INJ DEXAMETHASONE WITH INJ ONDANSETRON AND INJ DEXAMETHASONE WITH INJ METOCLOPRAMIDE FOR PREVENTION OF POST-OPERATIVE NAUSEA AND VOMITING(PONV) AFTER GENERAL ANAESTHESIA AT TERTIARY CARE CENTER

Introduction: Postoperative nausea & vomiting (PONV) are common distressing complications of anaesthesia. Pain ,nausea frequently listed by the patient as their most important postoperative concerns. PONV results in increased patientÂ’s discomfort and dissatisfaction. Despite continuing advances anaesthetic surgical technique, both incidence severity remain relatively unchanged. Material Methods: A total 200 patients belonging to ASA grade 1 2 posted for surgery under general anaesthesia were included after satisfying eligibility criteria. They divided into two groups.Group O received Dexamethasone 8 mg i.v. + Ondansetron 4 i.v.Group M Metoclopramide 10 i.v.In this study, primary aim was assess post operative first hrs groups. Results: In group ,total 32 out 100 had compared where 14 nausea.In M, 19 mild 9 O. 13 moderate 5 25 episodes episodes. 12 .The difference between groups statistically significant. Conclusion: study score significantly low which is combination dexamethasone ondansetron consists metoclopramide.
